What is a guardian home?

A guardian home is a family or person that one of our dogs or puppies resides with for life, and comes to us for breeding and whelping. Our guardian program allows us to continue improving our bloodlines and grow our pack, all while keeping the dogs as the center of attention. As we move forward and grow our program, instead of us splitting our attention between each dog or puppy, a family gets the opportunity to have a beloved family member at no upfront cost, and ensures the puppy is getting all of the attention and care in the world!

How does it work?

As the guardian family, you are the forever home for one of our breeding dogs. A beautiful litter is welcomed into the world, and your guardian puppy is carefully selected as the best representation of its litter. The puppy goes home with you, attends training, veterinary care, and receives all of the necessary love and attention that develops the puppy into the best family dog. Once the puppy matures into a young-adult, we will take them to our specialty veterinarian. This veterinarian takes radiographs of the dog’s hips and elbows, and submits them to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Then we wait for the OFA to give us the results and ensure that the dog is healthy and does not show any dysplasia, the dog is then eligible to move forward in our breeding program. We will perform genetic screening as well to ensure pairings are correct for healthy puppies. It is also possible they will see a specialist for their eye and heart screening. We may also have an adult dog that can go into a guardian home after the dog receives proper OFA and genetic testing. Some guardian homes receive compensation.

How do I apply?

Below we have the links attached to our Google Forms, if you are unable to select it, scroll below and fill out the contact information sheet, request the Guardian Home contract. We will email it to you, read it over with the members of your household to ensure it is a good fit for your family. If you would like to proceed, email us back and we will send our application! You must live within 1 hr of Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Or 2hrs but willing to meet halfway. We can be flexible for the perfect home.
