We are a breeder in Tomahawk, Wisconsin. We offer delivery to the USA! Our goal at Mahner Labs is to provide you with a loving, loyal companion. Our AKC Labrador Retrievers have the amazing duality that everyone loves about labs, the ability to spend the day hunting and exploring, but also wind down and cuddle on the sofa with a well deserved nap. We breed to improve our bloodlines. Whether that may be to produce the next best hunters, show dogs, or couch potatoes, we have a puppy for you.

 

Mahner Labs started with one dog, our chocolate male, Charlie. We knew we wanted to breed him - as many people do when they have a beautiful dog - but the more we researched, the more we discovered. Temperament testing, Volhard testing, genetics, orthopedics, laxity, structure, all were things that separated the responsible breeders from the backyard breeders. We learned just how easy it was to doom a puppy from birth just from poor breeding practices. We knew we never wanted to produce a sick or disease ridden puppy, and Mahner Labs was created with that ideology.

Our dogs take turns living in the house with us or at our creek-side farm with access to pasture to run and play in.  Previously they lived inside with us full time but we recently changed locations. We try to regularly take them to nearby lakes and the river to have a fun time water retrieving or just sitting on the sidelines enjoying the cool water. Some of our dogs we have gotten as untrained adults, and some we have raised from birth.
